I’ve tried numerous models(Yurbuds Inspire LE BT, JayBird BlueBuds X, Plantronics Back Beat GO 2, Audio 66 BTS+) and simply could not find any that would perform well enough, and fit properly at the same time. I’m very picky about the fit and don’t want to be distracted by it while working out, and previously Yurbuds Inspire(wired) were the only ones that fit my ears properly(the Yurbuds Inspire LE BT were bulky and the sound quality was awful). I cannot use in ear canal earbuds, as they just never fit and irritate me to no end. I’ve tried all the different tips that come with each, and simply cannot find any that get a proper seal and stay in my ears. So I was stoked when I found these, as the shape and porting of the sound is very similar to the Yurbuds Inspire wired.

A good headset with acceptable sound that stays in place during workouts

Well, it took a little time to get used to both the fit AND and the interface, but I finally feel ready to properly review the Plantronics Backbeat Fit headphones. Previously, I have been using the Jaybird Bluebuds X. As many reviewers of the Jaybirds have indicated, they are pretty nice earphones that sound more than acceptable when inserted correctly. But, I’ve had a lot of issues getting them to stay in my ears despite trying many of the varying adapters and different-sized earbuds. Unfortunately, if a good seal isn’t maintained, the sound quality of the Jaybirds deteriorates dramatically. Lastly, I don’t really love the the long neck strap/cord on the Jaybirds. It bounces around regardless of whether place in front of or behind my neck, or even inside my shirt. I tried the cord fasteners but they didn’t really resolve the bouncing issue.

So I had a Motorola S9-HD Rokr running headset for years and last week, it fell out of my gym bag in the locker room and vanished. After spending a day or two checking with the front desk staff at the gym, I decided to buy a replacement but to my dismay, the S9-HD is no longer manufactured. The replacement Motorola headsets all had mixed reviews so I was hesitant to plunk down money for something I wouldn’t be totally happy with (I’m picky about my workout gear).

Does the job right! – only one issue

I’ve used other headphones that are made for working out, but they always fall out, esp when I really get into my workouts and sweat a lot.

Very good but needs help getting there

I received this headset about two weeks ago. I was VERY impressed with the build quality. They feel very solid and protected against the elements. Once I slipped them on they were initially comfortable, but I started to feel irritation quickly thanks to the more solid style earbud/earpiece. Sound was good, not great. They sounded better if you pushed them in, but once you let them go they do not have the in ear depth for great sound.

The perfect headphones for an active lifestyle

These are the best headphones I’ve ever owned, perfect for running and working out. The ability to talk on them is fantastic, and the sound is crystal clear for the people I am talking with. I like them so much I find myself wearing them around my house and not bothering with my very nice surround sound. I even use them in the car in case I get a call. After owning these and using them everyday for two weeks I don’t know how I ever used headphones with a cord. I can carry my phone in my gym bag and leave it at a machine as I walk across the gym to get some weights and signal is still excellent. I dislike having to keep my music source on my body when I workout, and these take care of that problem. I can go for a 6 mile run and they don’t budge at all, which is awesome because I always found myself fidgeting with my headphones in the past because they would move around. Connecting them to my phone was so easy, no app needed, no software to download, they linked right up. Anyone having problems linking them is incompetent, it couldn’t have been any easier. The button navigation on the headset is designed very well, very user friendly. Lastly, they are super flexible making them easy to store in a bag or put in your pocket. I recommend this product to anyone active that wants to get rid of cords, they are perfect.

Awesome! Preferable to Jaybirds if you’re a runner. But buy a different carrying case.

I love these headphones. I was looking for a wireless headset that I could wear while running, lifting weights, and doing yard work. Initially I bought the Jaybird X2’s. However, I was very unsatisfied with the fit of the Jaybird’s. Even though they were secure, they didn’t feel comfortable, and I didn’t like the feeling of running with my ear jammed full of a foam insert. I exchanged them for the Plantronics Backbeat Fits, and have not regretted the decision once.
